Bootleg Gap is a fantastic 27 hole facility in the heart of the southern BC Rockies. This beautiful Les Furber course takes golfers along the valley floor, beside raging rivers and through some of the best scenery in the BC Rockies.
Bootleg Gap is a little flatter and more forgiving than the other courses in the BC Rockies but that is by design. The owners at this course wanted to build a facility that was challenging for low handicappers but not crushingly difficult for more mortal golfers. The result is a course that offers a perfect blend of challenge and enjoyment for golfers of all levels.
The signature hole, the 193 yard 12th, is a dramatic par 3 with Bootleg Mountain and the St. Mary’s River Gap in the background. Although well defended by mounds and bunkers, the large green looks easy enough to hit from the tee, but swirling river winds can play tricks with your tee shot. Add a nearly 70 foot drop from tee to green and you will quickly see why club selection can range from a driver to a six-iron.
The 12th hole begins a three-hole stretch of fantastic holes that rim the beautiful St. Mary's River and is indicative of why the back nine at Bootleg Gap is considered by many to be the best set of closing holes in the valley.
