The five courses that make up the heart of Kamloops golf are as distinct as they are unforgettable. Individually the following golf courses are great. Together they make for a fantastic golf vacation!
Eagle Point Golf Resort
Eagle Point Golf Resort, is a championship course in the classic parklands tradition. Rolling terrain, rugged Ponderosa Pine forest and sunny weather are the benchmarks of a round at Eagle Point, all contributing to its designation as “best place to play” by Golf Digest Magazine.
Rivershore Golf Links
Rivershore Golf Links, a masterpiece by the banks of the Thompson River, was designed by legendary architect Robert Trent Jones Sr. and has hosted the Canadian Amateur Championship.
Sun Rivers Golf Resort
Sun Rivers Golf Resort, with its immaculate fairways carved out of the sagebrush hills overlooking the Thompson River valley, was named the “Best new course in Western Canada” by Golf Digest Magazine in 2003.
The Dunes at Kamloops
The Dunes at Kamloops is a fantastic round of golf in the true links style. Her mounded fairways and immaculate greens make for an unforgettable golf experience. You simply cannot say you have played in Kamloops or the Thompson/Okanagan without playing The Dunes. Runner-up for Golf Digest’s best new course in Canada in 1997 and winner of the Platinum Award for excellence by Canada’s Golf Ranking Magazine, The Dunes at Kamloops is also the host of the Canadian Tour’s Qualifying school.
Tobiano Golf
And last, but not least is the newest kid on the Kamloops golf scene – Tobiano – but let me assure you this is no kid…
Thomas McBroom’s Tobiano Golf on a bluff above the shoreline of Kamloops Lake was unveiled to the public in 2008 and immediately took the market by storm, capturing “Best new course in Canada" by both Golf Digest and Score Golf Magazine. No other course in Canada has ever achieved such praise.
Once you play it you will understand what all the fuss is about. Immaculate conditioning, challenging golf and a backdrop that sets it apart from any other course in Canada.
With these five tracks, Kamloops may be one of the best-kept golfing secrets in all of Canada – however the word is spreading fast!
