Stretching 438 yards from the tips, with a tee box elevated over 80 feet above the fairway and an audience on the clubhouse deck in the distance, golfers invariably go with one simple strategy on this hole: Pull out the driver and see if you can knock a few dimples off the ball.
 With orchards on the right and Ponderosa trees on the left a smart golfer would ignore the blood racing through his veins, play the conservative shot and forget that this is his last chance for glory before heading home. Rip one up the middle in the dry desert air and you will have a short or mid iron to this relatively undefended green.
