Stretching to over 6800 yards from the tips, Gallagher’s Canyon certainly has plenty of yardage to keep your driver busy but it is how you position yourself for your shot to the green that is especially
crucial at Gallagher’s.
A great example of the Gallagher’s Canyon brand of golf is the 414 yard par 4 eleventh. A virtually straight-away hole with a two-level fairway, golfers are left with an interesting decision on the tee: Do you pull out the driver and try and reach the second tier of the fairway, 260 yards away, or do you play more conservatively, place the ball off the tee and go at the green with a mid or long iron? The ball really carries in the dry Okanagan air so 260 yards is not unreachable, even for moderate hitters. If the drive is even a little inaccurate, you will be left with a side-hill lie to a green that is defended by deep fescue on the right and by bunkers in front and behind.
