 Salmon Arm Golf Club is yet another hidden gem of the B.C. Interior. A fantastic test of golf for players of all levels, Salmon Arm Golf Club’s perfect balance of beautiful scenery and challenging golf caused Score Golf Magazine to rank it among the top-twenty courses in the country.
The course will take you over rolling terrain, around ravines, along tight fairways and past several water hazards – both natural and man made. The occasional dogleg will tempt you with the option to cut corners, but weigh your decision to go for it with the potential consequences. Punishments for bad shots are often severe at Salmon Arm Golf Club.
A perfect example of this is on Salmon Arm Golf Club’s par five 14th. A sharp dogleg to the right dares golfers to cut the corner over the trees and play for the green in two. You need to tee up the ball a bit higher than normal and get it on the upswing to get it over the mature stands of trees. If you are successful you will have a mid iron to the green for your second shot. If you didn’t get it up high enough or catch it fully there is little hope of finding the ball. Odds are you will be hitting your third shot back on the tee.
